HairSpray Story
Act 1: Friday afternoon at J.F.K High School. As the last bell rang, all the students were excited to get the
weekend started and especially one student in particular; Johnny Attoms. Juggling high school and a part
time job as an apprentice to Dr. Salvador at NYU have tired him out, Johnny wouldn’t want it any other way.
Under Dr. Salavador, he as learned alot about molecular biology and ways to enhance human performance
through medical research.
With the last bell all the student rushed to their lockers and tucked away their textbook and everyone was so excited to start the weekend.
Act 2: As Johnny was walking home, he passes by alot of old abandoned buildings. Bayside was once a thriving city but due to the slumping economy all the businesses have left Bayside within he last decade. What is left now are just old and abandoned factories and buildings all over bayside.
As Johnny walked pass these building and see all the homeless people living on the street. He couldn’t help to think to himself; what he could do to help improve this once thriving city. Seeing all that he have seen re- ally put his life in perspective and make him appreciate all that he has got, because Johnny was abandoned in a park as a child and the woman who found him, adopted Johnny and raised him as her own. She was poor and they lived on very little, however Johnny is very gratefull for all her love and support.
Act 3: Half way home Johnny hears a loud shreak and a baby crying. As he looked around the corner he sees a woman holding an infant child, she was curled up into a ball, craddling her baby and crying for help. She was surrounded by a group of teens. As he looks closer he could see that they were part of a gang that he regularly see around the neighbor hood.
Johnny did not know what to do. He sure did not want to leave the lady and the child to these thugs however he knows that confronthing them was a bad idea.
Act 4: Johnny remember that he was carrying a couple canister of experimental adheasive spray in this back pack that he and Dr. Salavador have been working on. The spay once applied to a surface can bond and hold the object in place for a short period of time and then it desolves in minutes without leaving a trace. The doctor had developed this for construction to help hold beams together so that they can be welded.
Johnny cautiously approached the group and asked them to leave the women and the child alone. As he had expected the gang turned their attention on him and rushed toward Johnny. One of the gang member throw a bottle that narrowly missed Johnny. Johnny pointed the two canister at the gand and started spraying at them. The gang was quickly immobilized as the substance dries and hardened them in place. Johnny knew that the substance will quickly disolve so he grabbed the woman and child and ran. The woman left here purse behind but was glad that she and her baby was out of danger.
Johnny felt bad that she had to leave her purse so he gave here some of own money so that it can make up for the lost purse. With this experience, Johnny feels that there are still alot of good people living in Bayside that needs help and maybe with Dr. Salvador’s help he can find a way to assist the people fo Bayside.
